Social Safety Nets

We are implementing reforms to have the social assistance better reach those most in need. For this, we plan to:

  • Improve the targeting of the poorest and increase their coverage with the social safety nets program
  • Speed up the administrative processes so that those in need get the social support (ajutor social) faster
  • Increase the awareness of those in need of the social support programs they are eligible for.

Pensions

We are implementing reforms to create an equitable and sustainable pensions system. For this, we plan to:

  • Increase the share of contributors to the pension system, to make the financing of pensioners more sustainable;
  • Decrease the deficit of social insurance budget;
  • Increase the benefits from the insurance system;
  • Call off pensions for some categories of citizens (with advantageous conditions);
  • Setting the pensions to the duration of the contribution and to the level of the realized insured income.

Access to healthcare

We are implementing reforms to increase the healthcare coverage of the poorest. For this, we plan to:

  • increase life expectancy at birth and increase healthy life span
  • reduce the differences in terms of health for all social groups
  • protect citizens from financial risks related to access to healthcare services
  • reduce the inequalities in the use and distribution of the healthcare services and satisfying their beneficiaries
